While hearing the matter, the J&K administration on Monday had told the Supreme Court that the preventive detention of Omar Abdullah’s for over seven months is justified as he is still a threat to public order.

Earlier in the day, the apex court said that it will hear, after Holi break, the petition filed by Sara Abdullah Pilot, sister of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, challenging his detention under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978.

The matter was listed before a bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra today but could not be taken up as Justice Mishra was hearing a Constitution bench matter. The court said that it will hear the matter post the Holi break.
