New Delhi: While on the first day of mediation,the SC-appointed interlocutors —Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran — exchanged ideas with the protesters, on Thursday the mediators are expected to talk about finding ways to resolve the issues. So far, the majority of the protesters are not in favour of shifting to a different location as they feel that this would hurt other Shaheen Baghs coming up at Chennai, Madhya Pradesh, Kolkata and other states. In a statement released on Twitter, Shaheen Bagh organisers said, “We are grateful to senior advocates Sadhana Ramachandran and Sanjay Hegde for starting the mediation process in the Shaheen Bagh main tent. As per their guidance, we look forward to continuing this dialogue over the coming days.”
The interlocutors also thanked everyone for constructive cooperation. “We will return tomorrow with a renewed hope for a resolution that satisfies everyone,” Sanjay Hegde said after the meeting.
“We met a whole lot of proud Indians who have confidence in the Constitution and the Supreme Court,” Sadhana Ramachandran said.
