New Delhi, May 8: The brother-in-law of Arvind Kejriwal, Surender Kumar Bansal, who is accused of being a beneficiary in the corruption charges levelled by Kapil Mishra, died earlier today. The Aam Aadmi Party leadership lashed out at Mishra for targeting the deceased kin of Kejriwal. “It is shameful on part of him (Mishra). Levelling a baseless corruption charge is one thing, but defaming a person lying on the funeral pyre is a sin. Even God won’t forgive him for that,” said deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia. Sanjay Singh said that before levelling such baseless charges against Kejriwal and his relative, Kapil Mishra should have shown some sensitivity. Mishra accused of cabinet minister Satyendra Jain of settling Rs 50 crore land dispute of Bansal, on behest of Kejriwal. Similar voices were echoed by the wife of Delhi CM Sunita Kejriwal, who tweeted “My brother in law is no more n this stupid man is speaking all written script without any mind.”

Accusing Arvind Kejriwal of accepting Rs. 2 crores from Delhi minister Satyendra Jain, Kapil Mishra had said, “I saw with my own eyes Jain giving Rs 2 crore in cash to Kejriwal at his residence. When I asked Kejriwal, he said such things happen in politics and it will be revealed later.”

In an earlier development, Kapil Mishra had said, “Satyendar Jain (Delhi Health Minister) himself told me that he managed a Rs 50 crore land deal in Chhattarpur (south Delhi) for Kejriwal’s brother-in-law. The deal was finalised for the Bansal family.”

Replying to allegations of poor management of water supply, Kapil Mishra said, “I want to ask if it was so, why did not Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia (Deputy Chief Minister) say it earlier. If they were fooling people when they were talking about work done by their government in developing water supply in the city.”
