New Delhi, February 27: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Shatrughan Sinha took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his demonetisation move saying “every claim has turned out false”. He even asked who should be blamed for rise in terrorism, unemployment, economic crisis among others.
“Sir! Every claim to justify demonetisation has turned out false. Terrorism has peaked, economy is gasping, SBI posted a loss for the first time in 19 years, most PSU banks in the red, unemployment all around.Whom to blame? On November 8, 2016, Modi took the nation by surprise by announcing that old Rs 500 notes and Rs 1000 notes were legal tender, thus wiping out 81 per cent of the currency in the flow then. The government then introduced new Rs 500 notes and Rs 2000 notes. The government also introduced new Rs 200 notes in 2017 to meet the cash crunch.
