Shimla: All 13 passengers were killed as the jeep they were travelling veered off a road and plunged into a deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district on Saturday. The accident reportedly happened at Sanail, three kilometres from Kuddu on Tiyuni Road. The ill-fated Trex vehicle, bearing registration number HP 02 0695, was on its way to Tiyuni from Swara. Also Read - West Bengal: 4 Killed as Bike Rams Into Stranded Truck in Howrah

“While 10 of them died on the spot, three succumbed to injuries at Rohru hospital,” he informed.

Soon after getting the information about the accident, a police team led by Jubbal Station House Officer and Swara police post in-charge reached the site. The team rescued three injured people and sent them to Rohru hospital. However, they succumbed to injuries.
Last month, at least 11 people died after a car rolled down a hill near Rohtang at Rani Nallah, in Kullu district. In an earlier incident, at least 33 university staffers were killed when a bus on a picnic trip fell into a deep gorge near Poladpur, around 175 km from Mumbai. There were 34 people traveling on the bus, and only one person could manage to survive.
