Mumbai, July 29: Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders staged a protest outside Maharashtra Assembly over the tweets of Salman Khan defending Yakub Memon, the lone death row convict of 1993 blasts case. Salman Khan in a series of tweet raised question on the hanging of Yakub Memon and asked why he was paying price for the crimes committed by his brother, Tiger Memon. “Get tiger hang him. Parade him not his brother,” Salman wrote in one of his tweets. After facing fierce criticism, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor apologised for his tweets. Meanwhile, the hearing on the petition of Yakub Memon is under-way in Supreme Court where the three-judges bench will decide his fate. Yakub today filed fresh mercy plea with President Pranab Mukherjee.
