New Delhi, June 6: Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hit back at Congress president Rahul Gandhi after the latter’s Mandsaur rally saying that he should first answer on the deaths of 21 farmers during Multai agitation when Congress was in power in the state. “During the time of Congress, shots were fired just for fertilizers. They are talking about firing (Mandsaur police firing), who was the chief minister in Madhya Pradesh when more than 21 farmers had died in the Multai firing? Congress should first answer that,” CM Chouhan told news agency ANI. Also Read - 'Tell Country Exactly What's Happening': Rahul Gandhi to Centre on India-China Face-Off
He further slammed Congress alleging it was not even able to provide water for irrigation during their governance. “First Rahul Gandhi should answer why Congress govt ruled for so many years but still wasn’t able to even provide water for irrigation. Congress, which used to give loan to farmers on interest of 18% is questioning BJP, which took decision to provide loans on 0% interest,” he said.
