Patna, November 23: A man chopped off his finger to celebrate and express his sheer happiness over Nitish Kumar becoming chief minister of Bihar. The bizarre incident took place in Oina village of Jehanabad district where Anil Sharma slashed his finger to display his immense joy after Nitish Kumar sworn in as CM of Bihar. “On November 20, around 2.34 pm I chopped off my left little finger with my sickle. The portion of chopped finger has been immersed in river Ganga after offering the same to the deity at my village,” Anil Sharma was quoted as saying by Time of India.
Anil Sharma, who chopped of his two left side fingers in 2005 and 2010 and offered them to a village deity, came to meet Nitish Kumar with bandaged finger on Sunday. He was seen waiting outside the CM residence to congratulate him but couldn’t meet Nitish Kumar. “I could not meet him because there was a large queue of visitors outside the gate. Sharma, who runs a small dairy farm with three cows, is also planning to throw a grand party to celebrate victory of NItish Kumar. “I want to sell off one of my Jersey cows for organising a feast at the village to celebrate the grand victory of CM Nitish Kumar. I don’t have any liabilities. I don’t want anything. By the grace of God I have been managing my livelihood well,” he said.
Anil Sharma has cut off his three fingers so far. When asked why did he slash only three since this is the fifth time Nitish became CM, Sharma said, “I did not chop off my two fingers deliberately during his two brief tenure as CM.” He believed Nitish has done tremendous work for poor and women in last one decade.
