The state police said that the blogger who had started a social media campaign against Bukhari has also been identified. He is a militant from Srinagar, who is settled in Pakistan.

Bukhari was killed on June 14 by three men outside his office in Srinagar’s press enclave. Two of Bukhari’s PSOs were also killed in the attack.

The development comes a day after a senior police official of Jammu and Kashmir said that Shujaat, the editor of Rising Kashmir, was gunned down by terrorists on instructions from across the border.

Earlier, it was reported that Hurriyat, Pakistan’s ISI and LeT may be behind Bukhari’s killing as the latter had refused to back their opposition of the “Ramzan ceasefire” and peace talks in the Valley.
