New Delhi: The doctors of Shivakumara Swami of Siddaganga Mutt on Monday said that his condition is critical and is currently kept on ventilator. Shivakumara Swami is a Lingayat religious figure and humanitarian and head of Sree Siddaganga Matha described as the most esteemed adherent of Lingayatism.
Talking to reporters, Dr Parameshwar said, “We noted variations in health parameters of the seer last night. He is on ventilator support and is in critical condition. We will give a further update in an hour.”
News agency ANI reported that deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara arrived at Siddaganga Math in Tumkuru where Math seer Sri Shivakumara Swamiji is kept for treatment. Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has cancelled all his appointments and is also expected to meet him.
Security has been tightened outside Siddaganga Math in Tumkuru and vehicular movements have also been restricted.
The 111-year-old Lingayat is being treated for a lung infection which he developed after an operation on December 8, which was carried out to treat his liver and bile duct infection.
