New Delhi: Dismissing reports that claimed he pushed Manoj Tiwari, during the inauguration of the Signature Bridge in national capital, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan on Monday said that the Delhi BJP chief was trying to climb the stage and would have attacked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia if he had not stopped the latter. The AAP MLA claimed that Tiwari was not invited at the inauguration but still he came there with his supporters and torn posters at the event. Earlier on Sunday, it was reported that Amanatullah Khan pushed BJP MP Manoj Tiwari. A video of the alleged incident also emerged in which Khan could be seen shoving Tiwari.
The Delhi BJP chief had alleged that the AAP MLA threatened to shoot him and a few policemen also misbehaved with him. “See the politics of Arvind Kejriwal. In the night Manish Sisodia tweeted that you are welcome, but why did Delhi Police raise barricade there when I reached there along with 1,200 people? The agitated AAP volunteers created ruckus and an MLA who is on bail threatened to shoot me and pushed me,” the BJP leader said in a tweet.
In a party statement, the BJP said, “AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan attacked the Delhi BJP president at the instance of Kejriwal”.
CM Kejriwal took to Twitter and called the incident unprecedented. He wrote,”Unprecedented. Chaos by BJP at Signature Bridge inauguration site. It’s a Delhi government programme. Police mute spectator. Can LG, being head of Delhi police, ensure peace and order at Signature bridge inauguration site?”
Hitting out at Tiwari, AAP leader Dilip Pandey said,”Thousands of people have come here to celebrate without an invitation card, but the MP (Manoj Tiwari) considers himself VIP. He is doing hooliganism. BJP people thrashed AAP volunteers and local people. They are admitted to a hospital.”
