Constituency Wise Karnataka Election Results 2018 Latest Updates: Voting for Sira, Pavagada (SC), Madhugiri, Gauribidannur and Bagepalli Assembly election was held on May 12. Counting of votes would be held today. The contest promises to be interesting as experts believe results of Karnataka would set the tone for the general elections of 2019. The Congress has 123 seats out of the 225 seats in the current Assembly.

In Sira, Congress has repeated its sitting MLA TB Jayachandra against the BJP’s SR Gowda and the JD(S)’s B Sathyanarayana. There are 15 candidates in the running from Sira. In Pavagada (SC), JD(S) hopes to repeat its winning streak of 2013 by fielding sitting MLA KM Thimayyarappa again. The BJP has GV Balaram while the Congress has also repeated its 2013 candidate Venkataramanappa who was the runner-up. There are ten other candidates in this contest for Assembly constituency number 137. In Madhugiri, The BJP has fielded Ramesh Reddy SC while the Congress has Kyathasandra N Rajanna and the JD(S) has MV Veerabhadraiah. In this contest of 15 candidates, both the Congress and the JD(S) have repeated their candidates from 2013 elections from Assembly constituency number 138. In Gauribidanur, The BJP has fielded K Jaipal Reddy while the Congress has fielded sitting MLA NH Shivashankara Reddy and the JD(S) has CR Narasimhamurthy. From Assembly constituency number 139, the contest is among 13 candidates this year. In 2013, the Congress candidate had defeated K Jaipal Reddy who had contested as an Independent. From Bagepalli, the Congress has fielded SN Subbareddy, the JD(S) Dr CR Manohar, the BJP Saikumar P and the CPM GV Sriramareddy. Bagepalli will see 15 candidates pitted against each other. In 2013, this time Congress candidate had won as an Independent against the CPM’s Sriramareddy. This is Assembly constituency number 140.
