Mumbai, February 25: Veteran actor Sridevi Kapoor died on Saturday in Dubai after she lost her battle to sudden cardiac arrest. The actress was in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with younger daughter Khushi Kapoor and other family members to attend the wedding of her nephew Mohit Marwah. According to Khaleej Times, the 53-year-old actress fell unconscious in the bathroom of her hotel room, in the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Dubai at 11 pm and died on her way to the hospital. However, the authorities at the hospital also confirmed that the mortal remains of Sridevi won’t be handed over to her family on Sunday night.

“Boney Kapoor, Jhanvi, Khushi and the entire Kapoor, Ayyappan and Marwah family is deeply bereaved and shocked by the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor. They thank the entire media for their prayers, support and sensitivity during their time of grief. Late Sridevi Kapoor’s body will arrive in India tomorrow. We will update you on all further information as and when it’s available to us. Request you to kindly reach out to us on everything related to this and we urge you to please not call the family for information on the same,” the statement issued by the family read.
The family also informed that Sridevi never had any history of heart ailments.
“We are completely shocked. She had no history of heart-related ailments,” actor Sanjay Kapoor told Khaleej Times. Kapoor reached Dubai this morning after receiving the news of Sridevi’s sudden demise.
