World’s Biggest Platform:

• This remarkable platform is located in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.
• It serves as a major railway junction for the region, connecting several cities and towns.
• The Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Junction (SSS Hubballi Junction) in Karnataka holds the record for the longest railway platform in the world.
• The platform at Hubli Railway Station spans an impressive 1,507 meters, approximately one and a half kilometers long.
• Indian Railways’ South Western Railway (SWR) zone’s Hubballi has its name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records, for having the world’s longest railway platform.
• The construction of this platform cost around Rs 20 crore, and it was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2023.
• The total cost of developing the entire project amounted to approximately Rs 500 crore.
• It is important to note that Hubballi Junction surpassed Gorakhpur Junction in Uttar Pradesh, which previously held the record with a platform length of 1,366 meters (4,482 feet).

The platform at Hubli Railway Station stretches an impressive 1507 meters, which is roughly one and a half kilometers long. This extensive length allows it to accommodate an entire train on the platform itself.
