Gujarat, May 22: The scorching heat and the intense wave in the many part of the nation are already setting records for highest temperature faced in so many years. This comes as a shock that in this summer, road has started to melt in Valsad area of Gujarat. People faced problems because of the tar melt, as they were barely able to walk. Their footwear stuck in the melting tar on the roads. Unable to walk properly, some even fell and bruised themselves.

Gujarat’s situation made me remember all the movies like 2012, The Day After Tomorrow and all those sort of movies which talks about how, when nature is exploited to the extreme levels, and nature rebounds after all the exploitation it has faced, first thing to be destroyed is man made things and man kind. There is no other reason to the increasing temperatures of unbearable degrees other than global warming and how we exploited our mother nature with the never ending greed. This is not an alarming situation because, we were alarmed about this quite a long ago, and the human race chose to ignore it. With Delhi facing temperatures as high as 47 degrees and Rajasthan heating up with 52 degrees in past week, the situations which people of Valsad faced are just examples of what more worse can come.

Remember the time when Leonardo Di Caprio won Oscar this year and the actor in his acceptance speech reminded us all the word we collectively felt in 2015, recorded as the hottest year in the history. Leonardo said “Climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our species and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating”. Emphasizing on the issue, he concluded that we should not take this planet for granted. (ALSO READ: Oscars perfect platform to talk about climate change: Leonardo DiCaprio)

Perhaps, this is the way to go after all what we can see this summer of 2016 is doing to us for what we did to the planet.
