New Delhi: The Congress party on Friday  accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of using  ‘blood and sacrifice’ of soldiers as a tool to garner votes. Addressing a press conference on the occasion of  second anniversary of surgical strike, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala also hit out at BJP president Amit Shah saying,”He has dishonoured the valour of our Armed Forced on October 7, 2016 by disregarding the supreme sacrifices made in the 5 wars and numerous surgical strikes.” Also Read - Centre Sanctions Rs 15,000 Crore Towards COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund

The grand old party also raked up the issue of Rafale deal and asked the Centre,”Why the number of fighter aircraft required by IAF was reduced from 126 to 36. “Why is Modi Govt involved in ‘Operation Cover Up’ in the Rafale Scam,” Surjewala asked. Claiming that the Narendra Modi govt has compromised  National Security and has betrayed National Interests in the last four and a half years, the Congress party posed 10 questions to the Centre.
