Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), June 4: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 60-year-old man in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore city in March 2018. The family of the victim said that the accused has sexually assaulted the girl on several occasions. The victim’s mother further alleged that even though a complaint was registered, the police have had refused to take action against the accused. The victim’s mother also added that the accused has been harassing the family and pressurising them to either withdraw the complaint or vacate the area. More details are awaited in the case. In other reports, a four-year-old girl was raped, brutally killed and stuffed inside a container in Faridabad’s Palwal. A medical test of the victim confirmed rape. As per a report, the accused used to work at victim’s father’s sweet shop for the last nine years. However, some of the neighbours told the victim’s family that they had last seen the girl with the accused, identified as Bholu. The family members reached Bholu’s house and found the four-year-old’s body dumped in a large container.

“When we started to look for her, he too participated along with us and kept fooling us. When we went to his house, his mother didn’t tell us anything. She was not even willing to open the door and turned off the lights where the drum was kept,” NDTV quoted girl’s father as saying.
