Lok Sabha Elections 2019: All 39 parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu will vote in the second phase of general elections on April 18. Among these, Namakkal, Erode, Tiruppur, Nilgiris and Coimbatore seats will also go to polls. Here’s all you need to know about them:
Namakkal
Namakkal constituency consists of 1,075,526 electorates in total, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) 2009 data. In 2014, the seat was won by AIADMK’s Sundaram PR against Gandhiselvan S of the DMK. For Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the DMK has fielded Chinraj A.K.P against AIADMK’s Kaliappan P and BSP Raman V.

Erode constituency consists of 1,010,079 electorates in total, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) 2009 data. In 2014, the seat was won by AIADMK’s Selvakumara Chinnayan S against Ganeshamurthi A of the MDMK. For Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the DMK has fielded Ganeshamurthi A against AIADMK’s Manimaran G and BSP Gopal M.
Tiruppur
Tiruppur constituency consists of 993,758 electorates in total, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) 2009 data. In 2014, the seat was won by AIADMK’s V Sathyabama against N Dineshkumar of the DMK. For Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the AIADMK has fielded Anandan MSM against BSP Ayyanar C.
Nilgiris
Nilgiris constituency consists of 1,003,168 electorates in total, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) 2009 data. The seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates. In 2014, the seat was won by AIADMK’s Gopalakrishnan, C against Raja A of the DMK. For Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the DMK has fielded Raja A against AIADMK’s Thiyagarajan M and BSP Ashok Kumar R.
Coimbatore
Coimbatore constituency consists of 1,163,781 electorates in total, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI) 2009 data. In 2014, the seat was won by AIADMK’s Nagarajan P against Radhakrishnan CP of the BJP. For Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded CP Radhakrishnan against CPI(M)’s PR Natarajan and BSP’s P Govindan.
The polling for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 will begin on April 11 and conclude on May 19. The counting of votes will be held on May 23. The results will be announced on the same day.
