“I will not reverse the decision I took. I have the blessings of my father,” he told ANI on Friday while asserting that the proceedings of divorce from his wife will continue. Notably, several media reports have time and again suggested that the former health minister of Bihar is mulling over rescinding his divorce petition. “There is no question to back divorce petition. Channels are flashing fake news,” he said while denying the claims.

Tej Pratap had filed a petition in a Patna Court seeking divorce from Aishwarya Rai on November 2.

In a similar statement on November 29, he had denied withdrawing his divorce petition. “I have not taken my petition back,” Yadav scion said after appearing in the Patna Family Court.

As per Tej Pratap’s advocate Yashwant Kumar Sharma, the two could not get along with each other and, therefore, have decided to part ways. “They could not get along. I filed an application under the Hindu Marriage Act on behalf of Tej Pratap Yadav. I cannot say anything else at this moment,” he had said earlier.

The Yadav scion had in November asserted that he was unhappy after his marriage with Aishwarya Rai and hence had filed the divorce petition. “Yes, I have filed a petition in the court. I will be fighting the case. There is no point in leading an unhappy life,” he said.

Tej Pratap Yadav married Aishwarya Rai, daughter of senior party leader Chandrika Rai, on May 12 this year. The lavish wedding, which took place in Patna, witnessed around 10,000 guests including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other politicians.
