New Delhi, May 13: Ruckus was created at the wedding of Bihar former chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad’s elder son, Tej Pratap Yadav. Yadav tied the nuptial knot with Aishwarya Rai, daughter of former minister Chandrika Prasad Rai in Patna on Saturday. During the ceremony, an unruly crowd breached the cordon of separating sitting arrangement for VIPs and media. They reportedly looted food items and crockery.
Soon, after the couple exchanged garlands, some people believed to be RJD supporters — broke the cordon and started looting food items. A scuffle broke out when some party leaders tried to chase unruly crowd with a stick. The miscreants broke the crockery and damaged tables and chairs. Even several media persons, including cameramen, complained of having been manhandled and their equipment damaged in the ruckus.
PTI quoted organizers saying that arrangement of food had been made for around 7,000 people, but it appeared that no adequate attention had been paid towards regulating such a huge number of people. (ALSO READ: Meet Aishwarya Rai, Wife of Tej Pratap Yadav)
Reportedly, more than 200 food corners were set up to serve the guests. Bihari cuisines were kept for the guests coming from different parts. Many political leaders like Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, Samajwadi Party chief and former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik, Former Union Minister CP Thakur and Nationalist Congress Party president Sharad Pawar came to attend the wedding and give the blessing to the newly-married couple.
The wedding reportedly took place in the Baahubali style which was the theme of the event. Baahubali is a 2015 Indian action movie directed by SS Rajamouli. More than 100 experienced cooks from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar were reportedly called in to prepare exquisite delicacies for the occasion.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was also granted a three-day parole to attend the wedding of his elder son. Lalu Prasad Yadav is serving sentences in fodder scam cases. Lalu Yadav could not attend the engagement ceremony of Tej Pratap and Aishwarya Rai that was held on April 18.
