Patna, Jun 10: Tejashwi Yadav, the younger son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, on Sunday dismissed rumours of differences with his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav. He said that a mountain shouldn’t be made out of a molehill while calling Tej Pratap his “brother and guide”.
Tejashwi’s statement comes a day after Tej Pratap rubbished the news of infighting within the family. Earlier on Saturday, Tej Pratap fuelled a speculation of retiring from politics after tweeting that he would happily hand over the reins of ‘Hastinapur’ to ‘Arjun’ (Tejashwi) and will himself head for Dwarka. However, hours later, he tweeted out a video denying differences between him and brother Tejashwi.
Speaking in support of his brother, Tejashwi said, “It is very evident Tej Pratap ji spoke on strength of the party. He spoke about how to unify and strengthen our party, ahead of 2019 (general election) & 2020 (Bihar assembly election). Unhone spasht kaha hai Tejashwi kaleje ka tukda hai. He is my brother & guide.”
Adding further, he said, “All are working to strengthen the party. We shouldn’t make mountain out of a molehill. We must focus on discrepancies on education, how students were given 38 out of 35 marks, how 44 young girls were raped. If you ignore this, Bihar isn’t going to benefit at all.”
Terming Tejashwi as his ‘Kaleje ka Tukda‘, the one who is closest to his heart, he warned the ‘Sanghis‘ to stop spreading rumours. “Sanghiyon.. Afwah phailane ki koshish mat karo aur kaan khol kar sunn lo .. Tejashwi mere kaleje ka tukda hai (Sanghis, do not try to spread rumours. Tejashwi is the one closest to my heart),” he tweeted.
Asserting that there are anti-social elements within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), he said, “Party people don’t receive my calls and say they’ve been asked by seniors leaders to do so. No differences between my brother and I. We’ll have to remove elements from party who want to break us. Want senior leaders to identify and expel them.”
