Patna, July 27: RJD leader and Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav along with a delegation will meet state Governor KN Tripathi on Thursday morning at 11 am. With 80 legislators, Tejashwi Yadav will stake claim for formation of government in Bihar. The latest development takes place after Nitish Kumar resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar, ending a two-year-old alliance with Lalu Yadav’s RJD and Congress Party.

On the other side Nitish Kumar is all set to take oath on Thursday evening and this time his cabinet will be formed with the help of BJP’s legislators. Kumar’s JD(U), with 71 legislators, is the second-largest party in the Bihar legislative assembly. With support from 53 BJP MLAs, it would cross the majority mark of 122. Two other parties with two seats are also expected to join the coalition.

Governor KN Tripathi who is also under pressure was hospitaised on Wednesday night over health issues. “I did not ask for anyone’s resignation, but I told Tejashwi and Lalu that they must explain the charges publicly. The atmosphere had become such that it was impossible to work. My conscience told me to quit,” Kumar said while addressing the media.

BJP leaders in Delhi as well as Patna today held a meeting and agreed that the party will support Nitish Kumar, ensuring he wins a trust vote. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also came forward to congratulate Nitish Kumar after he resigned for “joining the fight against corruption”. Nitish Kumar also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on twitter.
