New Delhi: Campaigning is reaching a feverish pitch in all the poll-bound states. In Telangana, Asaduddin Owaisi of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has alleged that the Congress wanted to bribe him to keep away from campaigning. Addressing a rally in Nirmal, Owaisi said, “The Congress offered me Rs 25 lakh to cancel my rally here. What more proof of their arrogance is needed? I am not the one who can be bought.” (Also read: Cong Releases List of 6 Candidates) Also Read - 'Not Wearing Bangles', After Waris Pathan, Another AIMIM Leader Stokes Controversy, Threatens to Disrupt Peace

Owaisi has been critical of the Congress and the BJP alike. On reports of the BJP promising cows to the people, Owaisi said, “The BJP in its manifesto for Telangana elections 2018 promises to distribute 1 lakh cows in the state. Will they give one to me also? I promise I will keep it with the utmost respect, but the question is will they give? It is not a laughing matter, just think about it.” Also Read - AIMIM Leader Waris Pathan Takes Back '15 crore Muslims...' Remark, Refuses to Apologise
This comes ahead of the assembly elections in the state slated to take place on December 7.
Issuing a fiery speech in poll-bound Telangana, Owaisi alleged that Shah doesn’t want a “Majlis-mukt or Congress-mukt Bharat” but a country free of Muslims.
Earlier, he had said that BJP chief Amit Shah visited Telangana and vowed to make it Majlis-free (referring to his party). “Amit Shah aake Telangana mein boley Hyderabad ko majlis se mukt karoonga. Kaun sa mukt karenge aap? Kahan se mukt karenge…Aap majlis mukt nahi, Bharat se musalmaanon ko mukt karna chahte hain. Bharat se musalmanon ka alienation karna chahte hain,” he said.
