Hyderabad, Mar 15: Telangana Budget 2018-19 was presented by the state’s Finance Minister Etela Rajender on Thursday in the state Legislative Assembly. Rajender presented a Budget of Rs 1,74,453 crore and said that Telangana’s GDP is set to touch 10.02 this year.
The state government has allotted Rs 25,000 crore for irrigation projects. Rs 12,000 crore have also been allocated towards input subsidy to farmers. Rs 500 crore have been earmarked for crop insurance. Here are some other highlights of Telangana Budget 2018:
Rs 1,450 crore has been allocated for Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi schemes and financial assistance to the economically weaker sections.
Rs 1,790 crore allocated for women and child welfare schemes.
Rs 1,470 crore has been allocated for distribution of land to homeless Dalits.
Rs 7,370 crore has been allocated for the health sector
Rs 2,800 crore has been allocated for education sector
Rs 5,800 crore has been allocated to the Police department.
Among other allocations, the Telangana Finance Minister also announced Rs 75 crore for journalists’ welfare and Rs 100 crore for advocates’ welfare. The state government has also allocated Rs 1800 crore for Mission Bhagiratha scheme to give piped water to all the households.
