New Delhi, February 14: The Delhi police investigating the sexual harassment case in which a former TERI (The Energy and Research Institute) researcher had accused RK Pachauri of sexual harassment will file their chargesheet at the Delhi High Court by next week. The cops investigating the TERI scandal had found RK Pachauri who was recently lifted as a Executive Vice-Chairman of TERI had found Pachauri guilty.
According to report, the 500 page chargesheet has been drafted and will be filed before the court by next week. The cops had gathered statements of 25 key witnesses in the high-profile scandal.
The Times Now reported that the cops who had drafted the chargesheet had come to a conclusion that Pachauri had ‘committed the crime’. There are chances that Pachauri who had won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 will be arrested by Delhi police after the chargesheet is submitted. Pachauri who has been facing flak from all corners chose to go on indefinite leave on Friday five days after he was promoted to take up the position of Executive Vice Chairman at TERI.
On Wednesday fresh charges of sexual harassment has appeared against Pachauri by another former Teri employee. The complainant had alleged that she was sexually harassed by Pachauri in 2003.
However the cops had not taken any suo-moto cognizance in the second sexual harassment allegations.
In 2015 a young intern working under Pachauri had accused him of sexual harassment and registered a case against him. Following the allegatio Pachauri was removed as the chairman of the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change.
