Srinagar, June 15: Another instance of terror was reported from Kashmir on Wednesday. A day after militants targeted a CRPF post in Jammu, a police station was attacked in Shopian today. Apart from the police station, grenades were thrown at Batpora Chowk as well. As of now, no casualties have been reported. At least 3 civilians have been critically injured. This is the fourth instance of militant assault reported from Kashmir in the past one week. Ever since the warning issued by Harkat-ul-Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani, the number of terror attacks against security forces have been escalated. On Monday, militants attacked a joint Police-CRPF post in Kud region of Kashmir, which left 3 jawans injured and 1 civilian dead.
According to political pundits in Kashmir, militancy has evidently increased in the state ever since the formation of PDP-BJP government in Jammu & Kashmir. As the right-wing RSS is gaining grounds in Jammu region, anti-India sentiment is rising in the Muslim-dominated Kashmir valley.
Additional battalions of police, along with CRPF units have been dispatched to the region to hunt down the militants who attacked the police station with grenades.
