Aurangzeb was abducted and killed by militants in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, June 15. The body of Aurangzeb, who had been abducted by militants in Shopian, was found in Pulwama district. The soldier, belonging to 44 Rashtriya Rifles, had boarded a private vehicle to reach Shopian where from he was supposed to go to his home in Rajouri district for Eid celebrations. When their vehicle reached Kalampora, a few terrorists stopped the vehicle and kidnapped Aurangzeb.
Sources here said the soldier was part of the army team that had killed top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, Sameer Tiger, on April 30. In other reports, Aurangzeb’s mortal remains have been brought to his native village in Poonch, ANI reported.
It is being speculated that Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) may be behind the abduction and killing of Army jawan Aurangzeb whose bullet-riddled body was found in Kalampora in Pulwama district. Intelligence sources told Zee Media that ISI is worried with the anti-terror operations being carried out by the Indian Army. Sources said Aurangzeb was abducted and killed at the behest of the ISI to teach a ”lesson to the Indian security forces”.
