New Delhi, Apr 20: The Bharatiya has released its third list of candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Elections 2018. The BJP has released the third list with a total of 59 candidates. The saffron party’s first list of candidates had a total of 72 candidates including chief ministerial candidate BS Yeddyurappa. The second list had 83 candidates the party would be contesting in the Karnataka polls 2018.

In the third list, some of the prominent names contesting on a BJP ticket include Abhay Patil in Belgaum South, Anil Benake in Belgaum North, Saptagiri Gowda in Gandhi Nagar, K Nagesh in Devanahalli, Bharath Shetty in Mangalore City North, Santhosh Kumar Rai in Mangalore, Mahantesh Doggagoudar in Kittur, Chandrashekhar Gokak in Hubli-Dharwad-East.

In the outgoing assembly, the Congress has 122 legislators. The tenure of 224-member Karnataka Assembly expires on May 28. Currently, the state is ruled by Siddaramaiah-led Congress. Karnataka will go to polls on May 12. The results will be out on May 15.
