Bollywood actor Rahul Roy, who shot to fame with movie ‘Aashiqui’ in 1990, joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of senior leader Vijay Goel on Saturday.

Addressing the media in national capital after joining hands with the ruling party, the actor-turned-politician hailed the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah. He said,”It was a significant day for me today. The way Narendra Modi ji, Amit Shah ji have been taking the country forward, also in changing the view how the world looks at India now, is remarkable.”

During the media briefing, Rahul also sang the popular song “Saanson Ki Jarurat Hai Jaise” from his movie Aashiqui.
