Lucknow/Shimla: Rain, thundershowers with isolated dust storm activities are likely to strike Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Shimla, “thunderstorm with, gusty winds, lightning and hailstorm very likely to occur in the districts of Una, Bilaspur, Kangra, Hamirpur, Mandi, Solan, Sirmaur and Shimla during next three hours.”

The MeT department in Lucknow too has predicted moderate thunderstorm and lightning/dust storm accompanied by winds/rain during next 3 hours over Baghpat, Meerut, Hapur, Amroha, Muzaffarnagar, Lalitpur, Unnao, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lucknow, Raebareli district and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, Punjab and Haryana are likely to experience rainfall as a fresh Western Disturbance has induced a Cyclonic Circulation over western parts of Rajasthan. These activities are expected to continue until Wednesday, that is, April 17. The weather system will then start moving away eastward and intensity will reduce to quite an extent.

However, these pre-monsoon activities will be damaging to standing crops of wheat. These crops will see damage due to strong winds, hailstorm, and rainfall activities. There will be a fall in temperatures due to rains. However, after April 17, maximum temperatures will soar again.

Delhi-NCR witnessed a decrease in temperatures after light showers lashed the region on Tuesday morning.

According to the IMD, the western disturbance will likely result in dust storm and thunderstorm along with gusty winds in some areas over Delhi during the next 24 hours.

The maximum and minimum temperature in Delhi on Monday was recorded to be 40 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
