New Delhi: In yet another shocking incident, a retired judge and his wife were found dead on the railway track near Chadalavada Engineering College in Renigunta town of Tirupati on Friday. Police suspect that the couple have committed suicide in quick succession. The deceased identified as Pamuluru Sudhakar (62) and his wife Varalakshmi (56) allegedly ended their life by throwing themselves under a train, said police. As per a report, Sudhakar, in his suicide note, said that he was ending his life as he was unable to bear the trauma of the kidney ailment he was suffering from for a long time. After getting the tragic news of husband’s death, Varalakshmi went to the same spot and ended her life in a similar manner, Deputy superintendent of police, railways, Ramesh Babu told Hindustan Times. “The mutilated bodies of Pamuluru Sudhakar and Varalakshmi were recovered from the railway tracks near Chadalavada Engineering College in Renigunta, 10 km from Tirupati. Both seemed to have died within a few hours of each other,” the DSP said.

The middle-aged couple were living in an apartment at Tiruchanuru alone after Sudhakar’s retirement.  Police said that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and a case was registered.
