New Delhi, May 17: The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Committee (TNEA) which will be conducting the online engineering counselling, saw nearly 80,000 students registration till yesterday. The TNEA has facilitated the online registration of application forms starting this year. More than 90 per cent of the students have resorted to filling of their engineering application forms online while only 10 per cent have gone to the TNEA facilitation centres. Once the students are done with the registration process, the certificate verification process will be carried out. TNEA secretary V.Rhymend Uthariaraj too explained the whole process of online counselling. The online counselling procedure which started with the registration of application forms, will release the certificate verification schedule once the registration gets over. Students must carry a set of documents while coming in for the verification process. Original certificates along with their photocopies are to be brought and a photograph affixed on the application form is a must. The TNEA has also given the students laxity wherein a person who is authorized may attend the process on behalf of the candidate can bring all the required and relevant documents and get it verified within a span of six days. It must be noted that both the original and photocopies have to self-attested.

In case a student has already joined a college, they need to bonafide certificate and attested copy of required certificates. Transfer certificates aren’t required though. Students may also make corrections in their applications forms during this point of time.

Over 15,000 students from CBSE board after registering their applications are awaiting their class 12 results. The online counselling will be conducted in five rounds and each round will go on for three days. Candidates’choice would be taken into account hence it’s important to specify one’s choices and a total of three days will be given for this.
