New Delhi, August 4: Showing solidarity with the suspended Congress lawmakers, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs will desist from attending the Lok Sabha till Friday.
“For greater interest of Parliamentary democracy, we are opposed to the suspension of 25 Lok Sabha MPs. We are not attending Lok Sabha from tomorrow right till the end of the week. We will review the situation at the end of the week,” TMC spokesperson Derek O’Brien told ANI. Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan suspended the MPs today over disruption of parliamentary proceedings under ruling 374 (A), leading to outrage from various quarters. Congress leader Malikarjun Kharge, while objecting to the Speaker’s action, said “our demand is that the ministers resign. Then everything will be peaceful.”
