Chennai, February 7: In a new twist in Tamil Nadu politics, sacked AIADMK leader and RK Nagar MLA TTV Dhinakaran said he is ready to merge with the faction led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam if his conditions are met.
Dhinakaran has demanded that the ruling faction drops six ministers from the cabinet and one of the 18 disqualified MLAs in his faction to be made the chief minister, reports said.
Dhinakaran has made it clear that he did not wish to become the chief minister.
In January, Dhinakaran had said there was no immediate necessity for him to float a new political party.

Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, who merged the factions led by them in August 2017, had in December 2017 warned of action against those who go against the party, following its loss in the December 21 RK Nagar assembly bypoll, won by Dhinakaran.
Since then, hundreds of party workers owing allegiance to the sidelined leader have been expelled from the party.
