Palgar (Maharashtra): Two bogies of a goods train on Friday caught fire, affecting the train movement towards Mumbai on both the lines. At least 12 trains have been cancelled and 10 have been short-terminated on both the lines. The cause of the fire in the bogies has not been ascertained yet.
The fire in the bogies was reported near Dahanu Road at around 10:35 PM yesterday. “Down line opened at 1.35 AM with speed restrictions. Restoration work in full swing for opening Up line,” Western Railway, PRO, said.
Suburban services are now running normally between Churchgate and Virar, local trains up to Boisar between Virar-Dahanu Road. Down line working at Dahanu Road and up line expected to resume soon, Western Railway PRO said.
