Bengaluru: Two labourers died after a portion of an under-construction building collapsed in Yeswanthpur, Bengaluru, around 4 AM on Friday, reported ANI. More details are awaited. Local media has identified the deceased as Rahul from West Bengal and Rakesh from Bihar.

Police and the ambulance were on the site and were helping with the rescue operation. The injured had been shifted to hospital.

Police suspect that negligence on part of the builder caused this accident. The RMC Yard police were investigating how the labourers could be working at that early an hour and whether they had the permission to do so as per their contract.

A case has reportedly been booked under IPC section 304-A. The contractor has also been booked for criminal negligence causing deaths and endangering lives of other labourers, reported a daily.
