Mumbai, September 15:  Indians will be granted more categories of visa on arrival, stated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to India Ahmed Albanna in a statement on Wednesday. On Thursday, the UAE announced a relaxation in visa rules for Indians.

The UAE announced that the move was part of the strengthening of bilateral ties between India and the Gulf country. It also considered this as a key factor to strengthen people-to-people ties between the two friendly countries. As reported by IANS, Albanna said that they have lined the decision to have a simplified visa process with the maiden visit of UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in February in 2016. According to reports, when Crown Prince made a visit to India as Chief Guest during Republic Day this year, the first step towards getting a simplified visa was taken by signing a MoU on mutual exemption of entry visa requirements to the holders of diplomatic, special and official passports.
