Udhampur attack: Pictures of captured militant released

New Delhi, August 5: A terrorist has been caught alive after the encounter between the militants and the security forces on Jammu and Kashmir highway came to and end. The militants attacked a BSF convoy early Wednesday morning, killing two jawans and critically injuring eight others.

The encounter came to an end after the three hostages held by the militants were rescued and one from amongst the group of attackers was captured by the BSF and another one was killed. Search is underway for the rest of the attackers from the group. Special forces of Army along with columns of Rashtriya Rifles (RR) unit are conducting the post post attack operation on BSF convoy. “3 hostages rescued. 1 terrorist killed and 1 caught alive by Army commando,” said the Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, PMO. The captured terrorist has been identified as Kasim Khan. He will be interrogated after medical check-up. ANI has released his visuals on their Twitter handle.

INC MP Ghulam Nabi Azad has congratulated the members of security forces who were involved in the encounter on the capture of the militant. In a statement to ANI, he praised the forces and said that catching a miltant alive was a big achievement.
