UK minister Priti Patel meets PM Narendra Modi, discusses skill development programme in India

Modi recalled his successful visit to UK last year in November and appreciated the follow up action taken on the outcomes of the visit.

New Delhi, Aug 13: Bilateral cooperation in the spheres of skill development, infrastructure financing, innovation, energy and ease of doing business was discussed today when British Minister for International Development Priti Patel met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here. The Prime Minister congratulated her on her appointment as Secretary of State for International Development as he noted her long association with India in her previous roles. Modi recalled his successful visit to UK last year in November and appreciated the follow up action taken on the outcomes of the visit, a PMO statement said. Patel briefed the Prime Minister on the activities and future plans of Department for International Development in India, it added.

“When it comes to security cooperation & counter terrorism support, UK stands shoulder to shoulder with India. British Govt has given indication of support for smart cities development in Pune, Indore, Amravati,” Patel said while speaking to ANI after the meeting.
