Lucknow, Aug 11: A Ukrainian national, allegedly harassed by Baghpat District Magistrate for registering her marriage, tweeted out to Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj and Rajnath Singh along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Hello Sir, I need your help i am citizen of ukraine and i am in love with indian guy who is from district baghpat. we applied marriage in district megistrate office baghpat. we give all documents what they have asked (sic),” she said in her tweet. In another, she said, “The DM of the district Mr Rishirendra kumar talked with us very rudely like we are his enemy. i give him NOC from my embassy. already 35 days gone. police verification done. but he said i will not accept this NOC from your embassy. what we need to do. pls help.”

However, the District Magistrate. while speaking to a TV channel dismissed the allegations against him. said that the man had “applied for marriage registration with a Ukrainian girl in the court of ADM. So the charges against me and my staff are baseless.”
