New Delhi, Jan 20: Two 15-year-old boys, victims of a road accident, were left to die on the road in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh after three policemen allegedly refused to ferry them to a hospital in their car. The cops were reportedly worried that the blood of the critically wounded kids would soil their vehicle.

The incident came to light yesterday when the two youth fell into a canal after their bike rammed into an electric pole and the policemen refused to take the boys to hospital in their patrol car because of their unwilling to ‘soil car with blood’.

The deceased identified as Arpit Khurana and Sunny Gupta. Both students of class X were on the way to home when the motorcycle they were riding hit an electric pole.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Superintendent of Police Pralabh Pratap Singh said, “It came to our notice that PRB 970 reached on the spot (of the accident) and refused to take the youth to the hospital.”

In a video that has gone viral, showed a young man crying and pleading the police to help his friends. He begged a man standing nearby to check the pulse of his heavily bleeding friend and was replied with “he is dead.” “Bhaiya iski body thandi ho rhi hai. Kuch to karo. (His body is getting cold, please do something.),” pleaded the miserable friend.

However, the police officials examining the scene are not seen taking any actions. The video shows a car or two stopping but then after a brief conversation, moving away from the scene. According to the reports of Time of India, one of the cops can be seen asking, “Where will we sit the whole night if our vehicle gets dirty?”

“The car will become dirty. Take them in a tempo,” another policeman told the deceased’s friend.

Acting swiftly over their inhuman act, the police department suspended three cops on Friday- head constable Inderpal Singh and constables Pankaj Kumar and Manoj Kumar.

“We have taken exemplary action against the three cops. We cannot tolerate the kind of inhuman treatment that was meted out to those in dire need of help. They (the three cops) are already under suspension. If, after the inquiry that has been set up, their irresponsible and immoral conduct is conclusively established, further action will be taken against them,”the daily quoted DIG (Saharanpur range) Sunil Emannuel as saying.
