UP: BJP Councillor Manish Kumar Arrested For Thrashing Cop at Hotel on Meerut-Dehradun Bypass

According to TimesNow report, the cop and the lawyer got into an argument with the waiter over the delay in serving of food. When the matter did not settle, the councillor intervened, escalating the matter.

Meerut:  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor Manish Kumar was seen thrashing a sub-inspector who had came come to his (Manish) hotel with a lady lawyer. As reported by news agency ANI, the sub-inspector got into an argument with a waiter. In the video, Manish Kumar could also be seen hurling abuses at the inspector, while beating him up in a fit of rage. Meanwhile, Kumar has been arrested. The incident took place on Friday, at the Meerut-Dehradun Bypass where the hotel is located.

Furthermore, a case has been registered against Manish Kumar under Indian Penal Code section 395 (punishment for dacoity) and 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
