New Delhi: A coach of Kathgodam-Howrah Express train derailed near Domingarh station in Gorakhpur on Thursday, news agency ANI reported. The incident took place in the afternoon. On Wednesday, five people lost their lives and many were injured after eight coaches and the engine of the New Farakka Express derailed near Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh. The accident took place in Harchandpur area of Rae Bareli district in the morning. Around 30-35 people were injured.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister had expressed his condolences for the deceased and directed the director general of police to take all necessary action. Adityanath had also announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for those who are seriously injured.

In a similar incident, a guard coach of Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express was derailed near Kapilas Road in Cuttack. Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM) of Khurda Road, S.P. Dwivedi along with senior officers from Cuttack and sectional track supervisors rushed to the site, the official had said.

In a similar incident, nine coaches of Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express were derailed near Titwala in Maharashtra. According to the reports, engine and nine coaches of the Nagpur-Mumbai Duronto Express derailed between Vasind and Asangaon stations.
