On investigation, it was found that the shiksha mitra is quite notorious. When reporters arrived at the police station, they found said man in police custody. It surfaced that the man had been held over assault charges of a woman. She said he beat her up and she had injury marks on her back as testimony to the attack. What is intriguing is the fact that the police are alleging foul play in the locals’ version of what happened that led to the beating of the shiksha mitra. Police said he was a cultured man who was doing a lot of good for society. They said that the reason he was caught and beaten up was some old enmity. Police seemed keen to dismiss the case as a vendetta. However, they said the man had then beaten up a woman for which he was arrested. Meanwhile, police are investigating the case.
