UP Man Throws 2-year-old Daughter From Terrace After Wife Gives Birth to Another Girl

The minor is said to be critical and has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

Bareilly: A man threw his 2-year-old daughter off the terrace of his house after his wife gave birth to another girl child. The incident was reported on Wednesday evening under CB Ganj police station area of Perdhauli village in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.

The minor is said to be critical and has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The accused, identified as Arvind Gangwar – a labourer by profession, escaped from the crime scene, the police were quoted as informing in a media report.

If police are to be believed, Gangwar wanted a son and committed the crime the a fit of rage after his wife gave birth to a girl second time. He got drunk, took her daughter to the terrace and threw her from there. The police were informed about the crime by his father.

An FIR has been registered against him under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched to nab Gangwar.
