New Delhi, May 20:  Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar on Sunday sparked a controversy by warning people for attending another political rally without his permission and if they do so they will be cursed for life, a news agency ANI reported. Addressing a gathering in Ballia district, the minister, who is part of the CM Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet, said, “Any person who will attend a political rally without his permission will be cursed for life. The person will suffer from jaundice for not obeying him and that he or she will be cured only by the medicines given by the minister (Om Prakash Rajbhar).”

However, this is not the first-time Rajbhar has made any controversial remark. Earlier, Rajbhar had hit headlines after he claimed that Yadavs and Rajputs consume the most amount of alcohol.

Rajbhar spearheads the backward classes’ welfare portfolio in the UP Cabinet and a Bharatiya Janata Party ally- Suheldev Bharatiya Party.  He had been in a controversy earlier regarding his criticism of the performance of the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh. He had publicly criticised Yogi Adityanath’s style of running the administration and for “failing to control corruption” in the state.

In another incident, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Gopal Parmar had said that late marriages lead to incidents like love jihad. Talking to a news agency, ANI, he said, “Earlier, children were married in their childhood in the villages. Because of which mindset of that person used to be safe. But today if someone’s marriage is not done at the right time, then he wanders which leads to the incidents like love jihad.
