Banda: A man has been booked for allegedly raping his 15-year-old cousin when she went to his house to celebrate Rakshabandhan with him in the Tindwari area here, police said Monday. On August 26, the girl went to her 21-year-old cousin’s house for tying Rakhi. But the man held her captive for two days and raped her, they said. The FIR on the matter was registered on Sunday on the complaint of the girl’s family, the police said. Police were trying to arrest the accused who was absconding.

Meanwhile, the forensic science laboratory (FSL) report of the witness in Unnao rape case, who died recently, has ruled out poisoning as the cause of his death hence, putting an end to the speculations of a foul play behind his death. “The FSL report of Yunus has been received by SP Unnao. No poison has been detected in the viscera which was sent for chemical analysis,” Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Anand Kumar said in Lucknow.

In Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, two minor sisters were allegedly raped in a hotel in Ashta area, a senior police official said on Sunday. The siblings, 14 and 15 years of age respectively, have said that the accused had identified themselves as Sanjay and Raj, said additional superintendent of police Sameer Yadav. “The victims were waiting to catch a bus in Puravar village, some 42 kilometres from here, Saturday evening when the accused, in separate motorcycles, offered them a lift till Ashta,” Yadav told PTI. However, the accused took them to a hotel where the victims were threatened and then raped after which the accused fled, Yadav said. He said that accused, who were yet to be arrested, have been charged with rape under sections of the Indian Penal Code as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
