On Saturday, the story of a 65-year-old man Krishna Kumar bearing the brunt of a rowdy policeman caught the attention of journo Ashutosh Tripathi of Bhaskar News. He reported the news of the sub-inspector named Pradeep Kumar who asked the senior citizen to vacate the spot where he has been working as Hindi typist for last 35 years outside General Post Office (GPO). And what followed next was pure cruelty.

The Sub-Inspector smashed the typewriter into several pieces and left the poor old man in despair. All of this was captured by the journo who despite being threatened to delete the pictures chose to share them on social media. He uploaded the pictures without putting a watermark, only for maximum number of people to see it.

The story of old man and the injustice touched the hearts of netizens who not only demanded strict action against the inhuman policeman but also came forward to help the typewriter. Soon, the news reached the State Government who ordered a new typewriter to be handed to the man. SSP Lucknow Mr. Rajesh Pandey and DM Lucknow Mr. Raj Shekhar paid visit to the old man and gave him the typewriter. This story not only helped us understand the real power of social media and not some crazy mob justice on the social media platform.
