Greater Noida: Two men, who were missing since Monday, have been found dead in a canal in Dadri. The bodies were found on Tuesday morning, Times of India reported.
According to police, the deceased were killed by five men after being involved in a drunken brawl. After which, a motorcycle, along with the bodies were dumped in the canal. Two people have been arrested in the case. Three others are on the run, the leading daily reported.
A police official told the newspaper, “While having drinks, an argument ensued between the two groups. On one side were Balveer and Mahesh and on the other were Phoolchand, Jitender, Ram Kishan, along with the restaurant owner Ravinder and his nephew Sonu. When the argument got heated, the five men attacked Balveer and Mahesh with sticks and a spade and they died around 11:30 PM.”
In another incident on October 1, a 31-year-old man was killed and a 20-year-old woman injured in separate shooting incidents in the national capital. The man was shot dead by two assailants in north-west Delhi’s Mahendra Park police station area. The incident took place at around 8:30 am on Monday. The motive of the shooting is yet to be ascertained. The man’s family has alleged that he was shot as he was in a relationship with a girl. However, the police are yet to confirm the matter.
