The armed men held the owner of the dairy Naresh Kumar and his son at gunpoint, and forcibly took away the buffaloes in two vehicles, a police official said. Angry over the incident, villagers blocked the road outside the area police station. However, the villagers backed down only after senior police officers visited the area. In another incident, raging mob thrashed two men for stealing the cows of a local person in Mughalsarai’s Subhash Nagar area. Superintendent of Police (SP) S K Singh told ANI, “The two were fleeing after stealing a cow and a calf of a local person. They were caught red-handed by the owner of the cows with the help of others. We have ordered an investigation into the matter,” Singh added.
